Pickup Instructions

Congratulations on becoming a Banana Slug! Your first student ID card is FREE! If you have submitted a photo through CloudCard, and your photo was approved, your card will be printed for you. Please see the instructions below.

Remember to bring a valid government-issued photo ID along with your student ID number at the time of pick up.


New Student Starting Summer Quarter
  • In June: If you are living on campus: at the Crown & Merrill Housing and Residential Education Office. Hours of operation are from 9am-4pm Monday through Friday. If you are living off-campus: at the ID Card Services Office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store after the first day of Session 1, 8-wk, 10-wk classes.
  • In July: If you are living on campus: Crown & Merrill Housing and Residential Education Office. Hours of operation are from 9am-4pm Monday through Friday. If you are living off-campus: at the ID Card Services Office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store after the first day of Session 2 classes.


New Student Starting Fall Quarter
  • If you are moving in before 9/18: at your College Housing Office location where you live. Hours of operation are from 9am-4pm Monday through Friday.
  • If you are moving in from 9/18-9/21: at your assigned move-in check-in location
  • If you are moving in from 9/22-9/24: at your College Housing Office location where you live. Hours of operation are from 9am-4pm Monday through Friday.
  • If you are living off-campus: at the ID Card Services Office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store. Check the ID Card Services website for the hours they are open.


New Student Starting Winter Quarter

If you submitted an approved photo by December 1:
  • If you will be living on campus, your ID Card will be waiting for you when you check in to your room on Friday, January 3.
  • If you will be living off campus, your ID Card will be available beginning December 12 at the ID Card Services office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store. Check the ID Card Services website for the hours they are open.
  • If you are picking up your ID Card on or after Monday, January 13, your ID card will be at the ID Card Services Office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store. Check the ID Card Services website for the hours they are open.

If you did NOT submit an approved photo by Sunday, December 1, and assuming you submitted a photo that was approved, you can pick up your ID Card beginning Monday, January 13 at the ID Card Services office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store. Check the ID Card Services website for the hours they are open.

If you need to submit a photo for approval to use on your ID Card, please go to ID Card Services’ Photo Upload Instructions page and follow the photo submission guidelines.

Please Note: You will need a valid government-issued photo ID along with your UCSC Student ID number to pick up your card. A photograph of such an ID on your phone or computer is acceptable.


Graduate Students
  • If you submitted an approved photo by Sunday, December 1, your ID Card will be available beginning December 12 at the ID Card Services office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store. Check the ID Card Services website for the hours they are open.
  • If you did NOT submit an approved photo by Sunday, December 1, and assuming you submitted a photo that was approved, you can pick up your ID Card beginning Monday, January 13 at the ID Card Services office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store. Check the ID Card Services website for the hours they are open.

Staff and Faculty, or Replacement Cards
  • For Employees, a Recharge Form must be completed and emailed to ID Card Services prior to picking up the card.
  • Your SlugCard will be available at the ID Card Services Office located on the second floor of the Bay Tree Campus Store.


UCSC Silicon Valley Campus ID Card Pick up
  • If you are a student enrolled in a degree program at the UCSC Silicon Valley Campus: at the Silicon Valley Campus building front desk during normal business hours.
